We are looking for a trendy college student, that can assist us in finding the “pulse” of the FSU student. Typically, the individual that excels at this position are heavily involved in social media in their personal lives and have a very good understanding of all the different social media platforms.  This summer, we could offer about 10 hrs/week, but once fall rolls around, we would like 20-25 hrs/week.  This position has a starting pay @ $10/hr, with part-time and full-time growth opportunities.

Scope and Responsibilities of this position

Statement of overall scope and responsibilities of this position:
The Social Media Intern will contribute significantly to social media and overall online marketing efforts working both onsite and online with the overall responsibility of effectively marketing and promoting The Woodlands brand on social media platforms and other channels. The Social Media Intern will report directly to the Social Media Coordinator. This person will also work closely with the leasing, marketing and creative teams.

Non-traditional working hours may be required due to the nature of on-and off property events, and student schedules.

Some of the responsibilities and qualifications are listed below.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Report to Social Media Coordinator (corporate) on a daily basis as well as to Director of Marketing (corporate) as needed.

• Collect digital content in the form of images and video during property events and marketing promotions.

• Research current trends and curate engaging, digital content.

• Utilize internet marketing techniques to increase brand awareness, grow our online presence, and escalate internet traffic.

• Aid in the management and monitoring of all social media platforms in order to strengthen relationships with existing clients, and increase the amount of potential clients we reach.

• Create daily marketing ideas and social media strategies for the various promotions and campaigns, and aid in their execution.
• Provide support in the planning and execution of promotions or marketing events both on and off campus.
• Communicate marketing needs to the corporate, creative department to ensure the correct message is being delivered.
• Exercise proficient social media networking skills and follow social etiquette when interacting with clients or potential clients, both online and offline.

• Education and Experience: Must be a student
• Ability to work with a virtual team in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrate ability to manage social networks efficiently and keep up with platform updates
• Demonstrated ability to organize, set and implement priorities to manage multiple tasks
• Maintain a positive attitude and a hunger for knowledge
• Employees should be organized, motivated, outgoing and creative
• Strong communications skills – including verbal, written and listening
• Leadership experience required

The Office of Strategic Initiatives (OSI) at the Library of Congress is now accepting applications for flexible, unpaid summer internships for undergraduate and graduate-level students! The Library of Congress is the nation’s oldest federal cultural institution and serves as the research arm of Congress. It is also the largest library in the world, with millions of books, recordings, photographs, maps and manuscripts in its collections. The Library’s mission is to support the Congress in fulfilling its constitutional duties and to further the progress of knowledge and creativity for the benefit of the American people. Graduate and undergraduate-level interns work on a diverse array of projects in numerous educational fields such as business, information technology, journalism, and digital curation. Mentors work directly with interns offering a professional relationship

Logistics

Prior interns at the Office of Strategic Initiatives at the Library of Congress have completed projects both short-term and long-term. Internships can be designed to work around school scheduling and generally range from 6 weeks to 5 months. Interns will work on specific projects as listed on http://www.loc.gov/internosi, and should tailor their applications toward the project descriptions.  Interns must commit to working a minimum of three days per week at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Internships at the Office of Strategic Initiatives are unpaid. Course credit may be earned for internships, per approval from each intern’s academic institution. At this time, virtual or online internships are unavailable.

As an intern in our Tallahassee office, you will be asked to perform a variety of tasks that are linked to our ability to deliver quality service to our clients. Television Ministry 3 or 6-hour non-paid Internships

Available Summer, Fall and Spring Semesters

Basic Areas of Internship Training (some experience preferred):

Operation of both standing pedestal and remote control cameras

Audio Board Operation and microphone placement

Lighting Board Operations

Overhead projection screen operation

Television switcher recording device operation

Prefer students with basic experience in:

Video camera shot composition

Microphone usage and setting levels on an audio board

Ability to learn operations of a switcher

Ability to learn operation of computer file and DVD recorders

Time availabilities needed:

Sundays from 7:30 AM until  10:00 AM and/or Sundays from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM

Other times as requested for shooting special in-house videos and organizing equipment storage areas. Any combination of these tasks can fulfill the internship work hours required.

Prefer:

At least one semester left before graduation

GPA 2.5 or higher

Good time management and organizational skills

The First Baptist Church of Tallahassee is located downtown close to the FSU campus at 108 West College Avenue (corner of College and Duval Streets).  Internships are non-paid for credit only and can be for  3 hour or 6 hour credit increments.
