<p>Seminole Boosters, Inc. provides the opportunity to work with some of FSU’s greatest supporters of athletics focusing on: marketing and communications, graphic design, event planning, customer service, general office organization and business practices. </p>
<p>Positions are well suited for students in Sport Management, Event Planning, Marketing, Information Technology, Communications, Fundraising, Graphic design, Website, Editorial and Business but are open to any student who is interested. Experience with MS office, Photoshop or Adobe creative suite, is a plus. Creative design, organization and communication skills will be utilized for public relations and marketing of the organization to acquire new Boosters, as well as stewarding current donors.</p>
<p>All interns will gain practical experience by working in a fast paced business environment and learn about one of the most elite collegiate fundraising organizations in the country.  Seminole Boosters can effectively match a student to a position best suited for their skills as well as provide experience to learn new skills.</p>
<p>We offer flexibility around school and activity schedules. A set work schedule, based on service hours or credit requirements, will be determined at the start of the internship. All internships are not paid.</p>
<p>Description of Internships:</p>
<p>General Office Internship:<br />
Office and event interns are expected to work a minimum of 10 hours/week. (More if necessary for school credit, please check your course requirements). You may be required to attend some pre-game football events, or work on an occasional weekend. This is a non paid internship.</p>
<p>Event Internship:<br />
Event interns are expected to work a minimum of 12 hours/week. You may be required to attend some pre-game football events, or work on an occasional weekend or evening. This position is a lot of work, setting up events, working at the events and breaking down the events.  The internship requires someone who is willing to be friendly, personably, and efficient with the projects given to them.  Interns should be able advanced users in Microsoft word and excel. Added plus would be Photoshop or indesign. This is a non paid internship.</p>
<p>IT or Graphic Internship:<br />
Information Technology:  Help maintain the website (www.seminoleboosters.com), create and send E-blasts (Targeted HTML E-mails), help office staff with technical requests/questions, along with responding to customer inquiries and resolving help tickets, respond to live chats and assist with IT projects in the office. This is a non-paid internship. </p>
<p>Graphic: Assisting with the Unconquered Magazine, website graphics, designing T-shirts, logos, invitations, flyers, banners, signs, e-mail headline banners, e-mail graphics, brochures and more. This is a non-paid internship.</p>
<p>Fundraiser Internship:<br />
We have area fundraisers who primarily work out of the office in designated locations such as Atlanta, Tampa, Miami, Orlando, and well as fundraisers who are based out of Tallahassee.  The purpose of a fundraiser intern is to perform personal phone calls to donors, set up appointments for our fundraisers to meet with prospects and current donors, assist in planning events from Tallahassee, send any mailings necessary, write proposals, and are available for any other tasks the fundraiser may require from you. This internship requires someone with strong speaking, organization and efficiency skills.  This is a non-paid internship.</p>
<p>Coaches Clubs Internship:<br />
This internship is for those who are passionate about FSU sports. Coaches Clubs Interns get to attend every sporting event, set up a table and talk to people about supporting that specific team.  There are multiple interns that will be accepted within this position, since there are many fall sports that overlap one another. The purpose of the clubs is to give the benefits out to donors who support the sport (Tshirts, calendars, etc) as well as ensure interaction between our donors and athletes. This internship depends on outgoing people who want to interact with our coaches and athletes while getting to know the donors who support the teams. This is a non-paid internship.</p>
<p>Executive Administration Internship:<br />
This internship is for those who are highly organized and are comfortable in the professional setting. The tasks included could include, but are not limited to making phone calls, completing mailings, running errands, and setting up appointments for the president of the Seminole Boosters. Interns should be able to create invitations, assist in private events hosted by the Executive staff of the Boosters, and be very personable and responsible. The intern should be someone who will represent the organization positively. Advance knowledge with excel, Microsoft word, even planning or assisting skills are strongly suggested. This is a non-paid internship.</p>
<p>Ticket Sales Internship:<br />
Ticket interns are expected to have advanced knowledge in Excel, word and any other programs is an added bonus. The intern will work with the Ticket Sales manager, and the ticket sales staff inside of the Florida State Ticket office. Duties include, but are not limited to; processing, spreadsheet tracking, ticket mailing packages, and other administrative duties as well as presence and assistance at any events where the ticket sales staff is working. This may include some evening and weekend responsibilities. This is a non-paid internship.</p>
<p>Marketing Internship:<br />
Work with our vice president of Marketing and our director creating the Unconquered Magazine which is produced quarterly. Excellent reading and writing skills are required, along with the general knowledge of sports, great speaking skills over the phone and passion for FSU.  This internship will also include general office help, the possibility of light game day help if necessary (pre-game only), and proofing. Must have impeccable organization. This is a non-paid internship. </p>

<p>POSITION DESCRIPTION<br />
This is a part-time position with no fringe benefits. Applicant will be required to work a schedule of 20 hours per week and must also be available to work on the first Wednesday and third Thursday of each month from 10 AM until 3 PM due to regularly scheduled meetings.</p>
<p>Duties<br />
-Maintaining financial, tax, and insurance records; employee timesheets; and processing payroll<br />
-Preparing invoices and payment checks<br />
-Prepping for monthly meetings for the two boards<br />
-Taking, transcribing, and maintaining meeting minutes<br />
-Maintaining organizational records, research material, and property files<br />
-Maintaining organization’s membership records and coordinating monthly membership<br />
renewals<br />
-Tracking, maintaining, and ordering office supplies<br />
-Completing simple research requests from the public and staff; will include off-site research<br />
-Assisting with event related tasks<br />
-General reception duties<br />
-Maintaining the Trust’s listserv and website<br />
-Other related duties as assigned<br />
Qualifications<br />
-Applicant must have experience using QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite. (Adobe,<br />
PageMaker and Corel Paintshop experience a plus.)<br />
**In lieu of Quickbooks experience, retail experience or any financial training may be<br />
substituted. Applicant will then be required to attend a Quickbooks training class.<br />
-Applicant must have experience editing websites.<br />
-Applicant must have strong oral and written communication skills. (A sample of<br />
applicant’s written work may be required.)<br />
- Experience in historic preservation, public history, or general history required.<br />
Experience will be waived with a Historic Preservation introductory course.</p>
<p>Rate of Pay will be $ 11.50 per hour.</p>

<p>Disability Rights Florida, the state’s premier statewide disability legal rights advocacy organization, is offering paid fall undergraduate internships to qualified candidates. Disability Rights Florida is a technologically advanced organization that uses the web, Constant Contact, Facebook, Twitter, Go to Webinar, print publications and a range of other means of communication to target information to key audiences within the disability and legal community. We offer services ranging from legislative policy analysis and advocacy to individual information and referral and free confidential legal or advocacy services. Our staff also conducts legal rights trainings and performs outreach about our mission, priorities, accomplishments and services.</p>
<p>In addition to gaining experience relevant to your specific major, all interns will gain knowledge and experience with disability accessibility, language accessibility and cultural competence.</p>

<p>Applicants may be from any field and should be have a strong interest in public service. Graduate students and advanced undergraduate students (juniors or seniors) are welcome to apply, and the program is open to both U.S. citizens and international students.</p>
<p>Placement may be in agencies such as the Executive Office of the Governor or in one of the following departments:  Children and Families, Elder Affairs, Education, Juvenile Justice, Management Services, Economic Development, Tourism and Trade, or Energy.</p>

<p>Researchers at Florida State University’s College of Communication and Information have received funding from the <strong>National Science Foundation</strong> to study the <strong>lifecycles of scientific teams</strong> conducting experiments at the <strong>National High Magnetic Field Laboratory </strong>(the “Mag Lab”). We are looking for up to <strong>four student interns</strong> for the Fall 2011 semester who are interested in learning more about how scientists work and how social scientists conduct research to determine how scientists work. Interns will work closely with the researchers to arrange, conduct, and analyze observations and interviews with teams in action at the Mag Lab.</p>
<p>Applications are welcome from students <strong>regardless of major or disciplinary background</strong>. Interns will receive <strong>academic credit</strong> for assisting the researchers. A commitment of 10 hours per week for one semester is expected for 3 credit hours.</p>
