MSIT program ranked #20 nationally

U.S. News & World Report’s 2015 Best Online Program Rankings are in, and the School of Information‘s MSIT program ranks #20 nationally for online graduate education programs.

“By combining a strong academic history, real life expertise, and the flexibility that comes with being fully online, FSU’s MSIT program provides a high-quality education that serves the needs of modern graduate students,” said John Marks, MSIT Chair.

The School of Information’s online program master’s degree program in information technology (MSIT) ranks No. 20 overall and No. 13 among public universities. Since it’s inception three years ago, the program has been completely online and prepares students for 21st Century careers in networking, web development, data management and user experience.

“Florida’s iSchool has over 15-years history of providing outstanding online graduate programs,” said Larry Dennis, dean of the College of Communication and Information. “This IT program was created specifically to meet the needs of IT professionals, entrepreneurs and veterans.”

Information Technology job sectors are booming and are expected to steadily grow. “Florida’s iSchool has a long history as an innovator and early adopter. Ours was one of the first iSchools to offer graduate programs entirely online,” Kathy Burnett, director of the School of Information. “We are proud of this ranking of our recently established Master’s in IT.”

Veterans are a priority for Florida State, something Glenn Rainey, recruitment & outreach coordinator for the iSchool, cites as one of the programs greatest strengths. “Florida’s iSchool is a proud supporter of veterans whether they are in the National Guard, Army Reserves or Active Duty components. We offer courses through our MSIT program that are entirely online, so veterans and their families can complete their Master’s to help them further their military careers and prepare them for the challenges post-military.”
