Georgia Southern University invites nominations and applications for the positions of Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology, Associate Professor of Instructional Technology (2 positions), and Professor of Instructional Technology in the Department of Leadership, Technology, and Human Development in the College of Education.

The positions of Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology , Associate Professor of Instructional Technology, and Professor of Instructional Technology will provide leadership to promote the College of Education’s mission.

Position Description:  Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Leadership, Technology, and Human Development each position requires teaching, service, and research responsibilities as well as a terminal degree.

The Assistant Professor, Associate Professors, and Professorof Instructional Technology will be responsible for teaching online graduate and undergraduate courses, advising graduate students, conducting and publishing scholarly research, and providing service to Georgia Southern University and the profession.

They are nine-month, tenure-track appointments and the salaries are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications for all four positions:

•Earned doctorate in Instructional Technology, or a related area, by August 1, 2014; •Knowledge of current hardware and software applications; •Ability to teach graduate courses, teach online, and offer graduate advisement; •Ability to conduct scholarly research and publish in appropriate venues; •Ability to perform service to the University and profession; •Effective communication skills; •Ability to work with diverse student populations; •Ability to use and model technology.

For search 67122: •Minimum of four years of full-time college/university teaching experience at the assistant professor level is required for the rank of associate professor along with a strong record of research and service with publications and presentations in professional venues.

For search 67120: •Minimum of five years of full-time college/university teaching experience at the associate professor level is required for the rank of professor along with a strong record of research and service with substantial publications and presentations in professional venues.

Preferred Qualifications Search 67128 Assistant Professor: •K-12 teaching experience; •School library media experience; •Higher education teaching experience; •Experience teaching online; •Research interest related to online learning, STEM teaching and learning, or k-12 online learning.

Preferred Qualifications Search 67122: Associate Professor: •K-12 teaching experience; •School library media experience; •Higher education teaching experience; •Experience teaching online; •Experience providing academic advising for graduate students; •Experience leading/coordinating graduate programs; •Research interest related to online learning, STEM teaching and learning, or k-12 online learning; •Successful grant funding.

Preferred Qualifications Search 67120: Professor: •K-12 teaching experience; School library media experience; •Higher education teaching experience; •Experience teaching online; •Experience providing academic advising for graduate students; •Experience mentoring research conducted by graduate students;•Experience leading/coordinating graduate programs;•Experience coordinating accreditation and developing degree programs; •Research interest related to online learning, STEM teaching and learning, or k-12 online learning; •Successful grant funding.

Preferred position starting dates are August 1, 2014.
