POSITION DESCRIPTION:

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is a member of a fast-paced application development team focused on .NET development. Business areas supported include, but are not limited to, Motorist Services (Driver License and Motor Vehicle), Administrative Service, and Office of the Executive Director and FHP enforcement applications. This position will be using object oriented programming techniques and will be expected to work with numerous technologies including, but not limited to, Uniface, .NET, ASP.NET, SharePoint, SSIS, SSRS, BizTalk, SQL Server and Oracle.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES FOR THIS POSITION: • Knowledge of Object Oriented programming principles and best practices.
• Knowledge of relational database design.
• Knowledge of the concepts and theories of data processing and data communications.
• Ability to operate as a technical lead for application development teams.
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, subordinates, technical staff and users.
• Ability to communicate technical data processing information effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to complete work assignments while working with business analysts and other technical staff.
• Ability to follow operational and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to design, develop and test web-based, database driven applications using industry standard techniques and guidelines.
• Ability to program in Oracle and/or SQL Server databases.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems with existing application.
• Ability to utilize integrated development environment tools such as Visual Studio.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Ability to write read and interpret technical specifications, test cases, and software requirements.
• Skill in deployment of web-based applications.
• Skill in analyzing and interpreting technical data.
• Skill in developing and executing unit and system tests.
• Skill in developing program specifications.
• Skill in Object Oriented analysis and design.
• Skill with programming using .NET.
• Skill with programming using C#.
• Skill in using source code configuration management tools such as Team Foundation Server.
NOTE: The selected applicant must have skill in designing, developing, testing and deploying web-based applications.

Preference will be given to applicants with at least 2 years of experience in the principles, practices and techniques of programming using .NET 3.5 or higher and software development experience using object oriented programming.

Potential candidates will be required to first successfully pass a screening exam. Oral interview requests will be based on the screening exam score. SPECIAL NOTE: The selected applicant must pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) criminal history background check.

Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m., although working on weekends may occasionally be required. This position may also be on-call after hours and weekends, and is eligible for overtime pay.
