Office/Research Assistant

TALLAHASSEE TRUST FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION

POSITION DESCRIPTION
This is a part-time position with no fringe benefits. Applicant will be required to work a schedule of 20 hours per week and must also be available to work on the first Wednesday and third Thursday of each month from 10 AM until 3 PM due to regularly scheduled meetings.

Duties
-Maintaining financial, tax, and insurance records; employee timesheets; and processing payroll
-Preparing invoices and payment checks
-Prepping for monthly meetings for the two boards
-Taking, transcribing, and maintaining meeting minutes
-Maintaining organizational records, research material, and property files
-Maintaining organization’s membership records and coordinating monthly membership
renewals
-Tracking, maintaining, and ordering office supplies
-Completing simple research requests from the public and staff; will include off-site research
-Assisting with event related tasks
-General reception duties
-Maintaining the Trust’s listserv and website
-Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
-Applicant must have experience using QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite. (Adobe,
PageMaker and Corel Paintshop experience a plus.)
**In lieu of Quickbooks experience, retail experience or any financial training may be
substituted. Applicant will then be required to attend a Quickbooks training class.
-Applicant must have experience editing websites.
-Applicant must have strong oral and written communication skills. (A sample of
applicant’s written work may be required.)
– Experience in historic preservation, public history, or general history required.
Experience will be waived with a Historic Preservation introductory course.

Rate of Pay will be $ 11.50 per hour.
