OPS Executive Secretary/Reading Clerk

General Summary

The Office of the Clerk is accepting applications for an OPS Executive Secretary/Reading Clerk.

This is temporary employment during the legislative session.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

The Reading Clerk is responsible for reading all bills, resolutions, amendments, and Senate Messages aloud to the members during the House session.  During peak periods during sessions, the ability to work longer hours.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma and one year of secretarial and/or clerical experience.  Possession of a Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) Certificate can substitute for the required experience.  College education can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience.  Vocational/technical training in an area of secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required work experience.

Rate of Pay

$12.06/hr
