Webmaster (OPS)

Florida State University Alumni Association

Part-time position with limited benefits

Open until filled; position available through June 30, 2016

About us:

We are the Florida State University Alumni Association: we help FSU grads stay connected with fellow alumni and the Florida State campus. We host dozens of receptions and networking events for FSU alumni each year, publish VIRES magazine biannually, award Legacy Scholarships to new FSU students, honor alumni through the Thirty Under 30, Circle of Gold, and Grads Made Good award programs, and coordinate a network of alumni interest groups and more than 80 Seminole Clubs and Chapters across the country.  Our offices are in the Alumni Center, next to the President’s House and one block from the Oglesby Union.

What you’ll be doing:

Working in our content management system (CMS) to update existing web pages, create new web pages and HTML-based emails.

Using your knowledge of web design to create new pages that look beautiful but also fit with the current website design (we will provide the words and images).

Managing our weekly metrics reports.

You must…

Know and love HTML & CSS, and be willing to quickly learn our CMS.

Have an eye for good web design and a keen attention to detail.

Know when the WYSIWYG editor is good enough and when to turn to a text editor to tweak your code.

Understand common cross-browser compatibility issues.

Know how to validate and troubleshoot your code.

Be organized, work independently and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

It would be nice if you have…

Familiarity with Google Analytics, Bootstrap, and Drupal.

Flexibility to help with occasional special events during evening and weekend hours.

This is for you if…

You can work in our office during business hours for 20-30 hours each week.

You want to work on a small team with experienced professionals and students.

You want responsibility to create page layouts and write your own HTML & CSS code.

You want to be able to show future employers web pages you created. People will use what you build.
