Position Summary

Villanova University’s new Department of Global Interdisciplinary Studies invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in global interdisciplinary studies to teach courses at the undergraduate level beginning in the Fall 2018 semester. We seek candidates with expertise in the social sciences who can work with students and faculty from a range of disciplines.

Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the position include team teaching and working with students in our interdisciplinary programs that are thematically and area focused, namely: Africana Studies, Asian Studies, Arab and Islamic Studies, Cultural Studies, Gender and Women’s Studies, Irish Studies, Latin American Studies, Peace and Justice Studies, and Russian Area Studies. Teaching duties include a 3-2 teaching load, contingent on a successful and promising record of scholarship. After a successful Third Year Review, a one-semester sabbatical is available in the fourth year.
