Digital Services Librarian Job Description Our Mission: To inspire and empower lifelong learning through innovation and discovery. To be the information and cultural center of the community. Our Values: Commitment Service Excellence Role Purpose: This position is responsible for supporting the Library’s IT infrastructure, providing technology support to users and planning, developing and executing technology workshops and classes that responds to our adult community’s interest and needs.

· Assist in maintaining the IT infrastructure

· Develop technology workshops and classes that respond to the interest of our adult community

· Maintain relevant statistics

· Participate in cross-departmental projects as required

Responsibilities: · Working with the Digital Services Team to maintain all Library technology · Responding to Help Desk requests · Assisting in developing, organizing and providing classes and workshops for our adult community · Providing Maker Lab and Virtual Reality Station support and technical assistance · Maintaining our digital presence via the website and social media · Working 5 – 8 hours per week on the Adult Services/ Information Desk · Instructing staff and public in the use of various digital technologies · Conducting one-on-one technology tutorials with public and staff · Provide drop-in technical support to the public twice a week · Undertaking other projects and assignments as requested Skills & Attributes: · Strong commitment to customer service · Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects · Knowledge of emerging digital technologies · Knowledge of 3D printing and scanning and other digital technologies · Collaborative work style · Good troubleshooting skills · Strong ability to convey ideas and lead informal learning programs · Professional demeanor

Qualifications / Experience:

· MLS degree required

· Basic understanding of computer networks

· Knowledge of pc hardware and software

· Knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems

· Knowledge of mobile devices and tablets

· Knowledge of emerging digital technologies

· Knowledge of WordPress (desirable)

 

Starting Salary range: $51,300-$55,000 This is a 35 hours per week full-time position requiring some evening and weekend shifts.
