This position will develop, provide business data analysis, and work with Microsoft SharePoint 2010, BizTalk 2010, and InfoPath 2010 to develop applications outlined in the Property Tax Oversight program’s Technology Vision Plan.

The incumbent will analyze user requirements, develop procedures, specifications, and solutions to automate or improve existing systems and perform job-related assignments and projects on an as-needed basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The successful applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in computer systems analysis and/or computer programming; or at least two years of experience as described above and either:

  • (1) Completion of a 720 classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in an area of data processing (excluding data entry,) or
  • (2) 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college course work from an accredited institution which includes four courses in computer science or management information systems.
  • Experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
  • Completion of a one-year program of study from a vocational/technical school in an area of data processing (excluding data entry) can substitute for one year of the required experience.

A Skills Verification Test will be required.

PREFERENCES

Preference will be given to applicants with:

  • At least six months of experience with data reporting software.
  • At least six months of experience developing and implementing applications.
  • At least six months of experience developing and implementing work flows in Microsoft SharePoint 2010.
  • At least six months of experience designing relational databases in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, VB Scripting, Microsoft Access, GIS and/or Oracle.
  • Experience with BizTalk 2010, SharePoint 2010, and/or InfoPath 2010.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

  • Contribute to the achievement of the program’s Technology Vision Plan.
  • Work with Microsoft SharePoint 2010 software to develop and implement applications, websites and work flows.
  • Analyze and test computer programs or systems to identify errors and ensure conformance to standards.
  • Work with IT team to configure hardware or software, perform installations, upgrades, testing, and working at optimization of capacity. Planning for data storage, efficiencies, and database growth.
  • Monitor information technology projects status and deadlines.
  • Develop reports from database queries using appropriate reporting software to meet user needs.
  • Consult with staff and users to identify operating procedure problems.
  • Confer with staff, users, and management to determine requirements for new systems or modifications.
  • Formulate and review plans outlining steps required to develop programs to meet staff and user requirements.
  • Devise flow charts and/or diagrams to illustrate steps and to describe logical operational steps of programs and systems.
  • Write documentation to describe and develop installation and operating procedures of programs and systems.
  • Coordinate installation of computer programs and operating systems, and test, maintain, and monitor computer systems.
  • Take classes, read manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn how to develop programs and systems to meet staff and user requirements.
  • Write and revise program and system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.
  • Review and analyze computer printouts and performance indications to locate code problems.
  • Modify programs to correct errors or to enhance performance.
  • Assist staff and users to solve computer-related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems.
  • Train staff and users to use computer systems and programs.
  • Provide authoritative information or advice on computer systems and programs.
