Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications or a closely related field; and three years telecommunications experience, including one year of telecommunications project management experience; or any equivalent combination of closely related training and experience. Successful completion of a criminal history background investigation is required prior to employment. Applicants within six months of meeting the minimum education/experience requirement may be considered for trainee status. This position is primarily responsible for maintaining the county’s phone system and will be required to perform locates of county owned underground cable systems. This position will also be responsible for the cabling infrastructure, copper and fiber, and maintain the county’s data network. Current experience with repair and maintenance of both TDM and VOIP PBXs and their associated handsets, analog, digital; knowledge of voicemail, call accounting and 911 call locating systems is desired. Experience with Cisco data equipment, switches, routers and wireless, and experience with installation, repair and troubleshooting of voice and data cabling desirable.
