INTERNSHIP AT THE INFORMATION INSTITUTE FALL 2017

The Information Institute http://www.ii.fsu.edu/ in the College of Communication & Information at Florida State University announces the availability of an internship in information technology research and management for the Fall 2017 semester.  The internship requires a total of 135 hours on-site at the Information Institute (approximately 10-12 hours per week) and will provide 3 credit hours upon the successful completion of the internship.

The intern will have the opportunity to participate in a team environment working on a range of existing funded projects and new research and development initiatives broadly related to information technology.  Activities may include: literature review and analysis; project planning; data collection instrument development; data analysis; report writing; client meetings and the organization of these meetings; and other tasks as assigned.

Applicants can be (as of fall 2017) juniors, seniors, or graduate students.  They should have:

·      Some knowledge of and hands-on experience with an array of information technology software, hardware, and networking;
·      Knowledge of and preferably some experience with conducting scholarly research;
·      Excellent oral and written communication skills;
·      Ability to make basic edits and updates to the Information Institute’s web pages and social media;
·      Ability to be punctual and maintain an agreed upon schedule;
·      Ability to work successfully in a team environment; and
·      Ability to work independently.
