Library / Archival Internship

 

Summary

The Florida Attractions Association (FAA) is seeking an intern to assist in cataloguing and archiving historic files and materials at the Association’s Tallahassee office.

You will assist in sorting, organizing, labeling, and filing documents, notebooks, and other items kept at the FAA office for historical purposes.

Tasks will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Archiving and cataloguing the complete contents of all historical binders and materials from past FAA events and records
  • Repacking all historical materials into a uniform filing system, including labels and folders/containers
  • Copying/preparing materials necessary for current FAA projects, including historical items useful for the FAA’s 65th anniversary and Annual Conference
  • Organizing all library materials to maximize efficiency and access
  • Preparing an active index for all library (historical) materials for easy reference, and informing FAA staff of key developments in the indexing process
  • Other tasks as needed

Hours per Week (approximate)

8-12 hrs/wk, schedule flexible with coursework

Compensation

$7.93/hr (part-time, no benefits)

The FAA will provide letters of reference, commendation and/or recommendation for students who successfully complete the requirements of their internship.

Interns will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement upon acceptance of the internship. Hours are flexible within a fixed weekly schedule during normal business hours.
