Reference Associate (OPS) (part time)

Department

Position will be located in the Undergraduate Learning Commons of the University Libraries

Responsibilities

Florida State University Libraries seeks customer service-oriented people to act as highly trained reference assistants in the undergraduate services team,

Primary duties include:

  • Providing a broad array of in-depth information and educational services to students, faculty, staff, and other library users.
  • Providing reference both in-person and virtually.
  • Assisting patrons with some circulation and technology issues.
  • Attend weekly paid training

Preferred

  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of public services in an academic setting.
  • Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills, analytical skills, and the ability to work with all levels of staff.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree from ALA-accredited Library Science program or currently enrolled in an ALA-accredited Library Science program.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with current technology.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends.
