WHAT’S YOUR NEXT PLAY?

NFL Summer Internship Program participants have the opportunity to contribute to the organization’s success while receiving an unmatched, behind-the-scenes learning experience. Though interns work within specific departments, they can explore all aspects of the business of professional football through challenging project assignments, speaker presentations, mentoring relationships, and networking opportunities.

The summer program covers a minimum of 10 weeks, from June 7 – August 13, 2021.  Interns will be required to work five (5) full days (approximately 40 hours) per week. Interns will be paid an hourly rate for their work. Neither housing nor relocation assistance is provided for Summer Internship Program Participants.

The NFL is looking to draft rising stars to join their Communications & Public Affairs Team. Do you believe you have the following qualifications?

 

OVERVIEW:

The Communications & Public Affairs department is the NFL’s voice to the public and the media.  This department is responsible for publicizing all of the activities involving the NFL, including games, clubs, and players, as well as the leagues’ business initiatives and its commitment to health and safety.  The departments’ duties also include interacting with government agencies and coordinating NFL-related political affairs.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the creation of league-wide publications, including the NFL Kickoff Guide and Black Book, and promoting football-focused storylines.
  • Contribute to the development of promotional plans for Youth Football, Player Engagement, and Legends Community efforts
  • Writing and research assignments for NFL news releases
  • Assist with efforts to deepen relationships with members of the media
  • Monitor press coverage and create media briefings that are distributed to league personnel

 

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:

  • Rising Undergraduate Senior
  • Must have completed a minimum of three years in an accredited four-year college/university degree program
  • A minimum GPA of at least 3.0. Academic transcripts (official or unofficial) will be requested
  • Preferred Major and Coursework: Sport Management and/or Communications

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
  • Strong football knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task, writing and editing skills
