Progress Michigan is looking for a Multimedia Designer to join our creative team. The Multimedia Designer is responsible for designing content for short-term and long-term projects for Progress Michigan and our partners. We are looking for a candidate who is proficient in both graphic design and video editing. In this position, work will focus heavily on graphics and videos formatted for various social media platforms.
The ideal candidate can balance multiple projects, is organized, and can work individually and collaboratively. They are comfortable with remote work and communication and have a willingness to learn new design skills to contribute to the team.
The position allows for remote work during the COVID pandemic, but will be located in one of our offices in Lansing or Detroit once it’s safe to return to the office.
Responsibilities include:
- Work closely with the team and our partners to assist in creative development
- Conceptualize and produce digital content including video production, static ads, website banners and images, email graphics, social media graphics, and more.
- Design and produce printed materials including brochures, posters, stickers, pamphlets, mailers, signage, and more.
- Occasionally be asked to attend events to capture photos, interviews, and b-roll. Prior experience in photography and videography is a plus.
- Work on multiple projects at once, and consistently meet draft deadlines
- Basic Knowledge of using WordPress or the willingness to learn
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in a variety of industry-standard design tools such as Adobe CC (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator). Basic knowledge of InDesign, Lightroom, and others alike is a bonus.
- Understands the processes of designing for print and digital experiences.
- Experienced in creating digital marketing components to be used for various channels such as email, social media, online advertising, etc.
- An understanding of scalable asset creation, design & video trends, online marketing, image manipulation, and branding.
- Passion for creative excellence, branding, and visual communications
- Must include a portfolio with application
Compensation
The salary is $45,000 per year. Progress Michigan offers a competitive benefits package which includes, Health, Vision and Dental coverage as well as paid vacation, paid sick leave and 401K match.
