The Office of Insurance Regulation is seeking a staff assistant for the Chief of Staff’s office. I was wondering if you might have anyone in mind who might be a good fit. The position will report to me (deputy chief of staff.) The salary range is between $25,000-$29,000 with excellent benefits. For someone with an interest in communications, policy, public affairs, etc. it’s a great opportunity to get your foot in the door.
- Serves as the primary contact on phones for the Office of the Chief of Staff, provide general administrative assistance to all areas of the office as necessary
 - Receive and track incoming mail and distribute as appropriate; maintain and update email distribution lists as needed
 - Assist with the preparation and distribution of insurance-related news clips email daily
 - Assist the unit with the development of press packets, report binders and other materials for press events, hearings, and meetings
 - Serve as back-up proctor for continuing education training and professional designation programs
 - Assist with new employee briefings and welcome packets
 - Assist with Chief of Staff suite’s incoming and outgoing mail
 - Assist with special projects and research as required on issues affecting the agency
 - Additional duties as required by the position
 
REQUIRED/ENTRY-LEVEL KSAs:
- Knowledge of office procedures and practices.
 - Ability to use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar
 - Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
 - Ability to operate general office equipment
 - Ability to handle telephone calls in a courteous and effective manner.
 - Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
 - Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing.
 - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with others.
