Essential Job Functions:
  • Designs and develops learning modules for online and self-paced learning.
  • Creates and delivers a wide range of information literacy services to students and faculty, including classroom teaching, via LMS systems such as Canvas, WebCT/Blackboard courses, and individualized training.
  • Provides professional reference services to all affiliated HPD and NSU local and distant library users in person, by phone and via computer.
  • Performs bibliographic searches in a wide variety of medical and educational databases, medical/health journals and print collections.
  • Consults with faculty and students to identify, evaluate and recommend relevant instructional information technology for use and purchase, using present and emerging information and technologies.
  • Promotes instruction design resources and services to college faculty; maintain up-to-date knowledge of techniques for assessing the impact of technology use on teaching and learning.
  • Acts as liaison to one or more colleges in Health Professions Division with responsibility for participation in curriculum development, instruction and design of teaching resources, and responsibility for selection and evaluation of curriculum-specific resources.
  • Collaborates with faculty in research projects and writing for publication.
  • May be expected to assume responsibility for supervision of library support staff, volunteers, and/or student employees.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
KNOWLEDGE:
  • English Language – General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Customer and Personal Service – General knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.
  • Computers and Electronics – Working knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications, programming, and/or systems configuration.
  • Education and Training – General knowledge of principles and methods for Academic Library Services. Including considerable knowledge of general community needs and interests in relation to library services in the areas of specialization
  • Education and Training – General knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Clerical – General knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Communications and Media – General knowledge of media production, visual, verbal, and interactive communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and persuade via written, oral, and visual media.
Education/Qualifications:

Master’s degree from an ALA accredited program.
