CCI Staff Members Recognized Through UBA Nominations

Six College of Communication and Information (CCI) employees have been recognized by their colleagues through nominations for the University Business Administrators (UBA) awards, which provide an opportunity for university employees to recognize colleagues whose work makes a meaningful contribution to Florida State University. Through the nomination process, employees across the university can highlight the dedication, professionalism, and service of colleagues who help their departments and units succeed.

The CCI nominees include Julia Mbaya, Office Administrator for the CCI Office of the Dean; Katrina Gainous-Rivers, CCI Business Manager; Shpresa Sulollari, Accounting Specialist for the School of Information; Marie Davis, Human Resources Department Manager; Leah Pigford, Administrative Specialist; and Melinda Lee, Accounting Specialist.

For CCI, the six nominations highlight the important role staff members play in supporting the college’s day-to-day operations and broader mission. Staff members across CCI work behind the scenes and directly with faculty, students and colleagues to help keep the college’s schools, programs and offices running effectively.

The nominations also reflect the collaborative nature of CCI, where employees, in a variety of roles, contribute to a shared academic community. From administrative and business operations to student, faculty and staff support, CCI employees help create the foundation that allows the college to serve its community.

Being nominated by colleagues is a meaningful form of recognition because it reflects the impact an employee has made within their workplace. For the six CCI nominees, the nominations offer an opportunity to celebrate their contributions and the work they do each day as members of the college community.

The seven nominees represent the dedication of CCI’s staff and the many ways employees contribute to the success of the college and Florida State University. Their recognition reflects the strong community of faculty and staff working together across CCI.
