22squared’s summer internship is getting ready to hit the road. Route 22 is the ultimate intern challenge. It’s opportunity, collaboration and discovery—a true industry immersion. Our Atlanta and Tampa offices are accepting applicants for the summer of 2011. You’ll get course credit for your time and talent. 1. Confirm with a professor/dean that you are eligible to participate in an Academic Class Credit internship, and collect the following information regarding guidelines:
- Academic requirements (weekly journal, final paper or evaluation, etc.)
- Hours required for credit
- Available start date and end date
- Hours available per week

DISCIPLINE DESCRIPTIONS
Client Leadership: The role of Client Leadership is to lead clients and their organizations to greater success by building their brands and businesses through advocacy. We are the direct liaison between the agency and the client and work directly with various agency teams to develop business and marketing solutions that align with the objectives of our clients. We inspire agency teams by providing strategic direction and insight, maintaining a solutions-oriented mindset, and anticipating potential challenges and opportunities for all advertising campaigns and projects. Client Leadership manages the integrated approach the agency applies to clients’ business needs and consistently adds value along the way.
Social Media: Our Social Media team members are gifted conversationalists. After all, they communicate with millions of people every day. 22squared Social Media experts understand the nuances of community conversations, have passion for building brands’ personalities, and make social media conversations relevant to all.
Brand Planning: Brand Planning isn’t just about coming up with a single, compelling key idea (although that is an awesome and highly marketable skill), it’s about growing brands by strengthening relationships with customers. 22squared brand planners inspire people to talk, share and recommend by being imaginative, collaborative and endlessly curious.
Business Development: The Business Development department is responsible for managing internal and external corporate communications for 22squared, pursuing all new business opportunities, and merchandising 22squared’s account work, corporate culture and brand via public and media relations. From an agency brand perspective, this department ensures all agency messaging is consistent with the 22squared vision and standards. This includes maintaining the 22squared Website and 22squared social media profiles/accounts and using these tools to engage with consumers, new business prospects, employment candidates and media. Additionally, Business Development assists in the development and execution of 22squared’s corporate social responsibility strategy.
Client Performance: This is where the magic happens in a completely geeky way. We bring Usability and Analytics together to form solid digital and social strategies that reach our client goals. We work closely with Brand Strategy, Social Media and Client Leadership to define goals and online strategies; with Creative and Development to outline user interfaces and technology mashups; with Media to define conversion points that are then monitored, reported and optimized for success; and with our leadership to help educate and inform our clients on how performance analytics gives insights to the entire media mix. It’s a big job….for a small team. Numbers crunching….yes. Creative influence….Absolutely.
Human Resources: Selected applicant will assist with research and development of new and revised employee policies and procedures; scheduling and coordinating training programs; and other hands-on aspects of a functioning full-service Human Resources team.
Broadcast Production: The main role of the Broadcast Production department is to supervise all aspects of radio and television commercials, including the selection of directors/production companies, budgeting, casting, locations, music creation, filming and editing, from inception through final approval.
Digital Traffic: is involved in overall project management and implementation of complex advertiser media campaigns. We are involved from initial conception to final reporting and analysis. Digital Traffic plays a key role in advertiser success and overall delivery of all media campaigns. The intern’s responsibilities will include assisting trafficking of all digital campaigns into the primary ad server (Media Mind), gathering and trouble shooting asset specs, and analyzing campaigns to ensure appropriate delivery and pacing toward delivery.
Print Production: Our print producers set themselves apart by the depth of their knowledge. With jobs going well beyond a traditional 4-color print ad, 22squared print producers have a full understanding of sequencing inks on press, international shipping and printing standards, managing complex photography shoots, alternative green resources, and a working knowledge of digital and broadcast for integrated projects.
Media: Our media planners and buyers place several hundred million dollars in media each year, across every media outlet you could think of—and some you wouldn’t. 22squared Media team members utilize every media tool and technology to identify key consumer insights and build their client’s brand, often with a great deal of savings and flexibility.
Creative/Design: The Creative and Design departments create work that is noticed, enjoyed, remembered, talked about and, oh yeah, effective. Creatives are a collaborative group—working well with each other, with other departments and with extra coffee when the pressure’s on. 22squared creatives are imaginative and innovative, see opportunity in every assignment and are eager to dig in.
Campaign Management: Campaign managers are a combination of things: puzzle-solver, den mother, air traffic controller and nuclear physicist. Which is to say, highly organized, keenly strategic and able to manage integrated projects across multiple disciplines. 22squared campaign managers have a passion for seeing a project through, can manage the big picture as well as the smallest details, and integrate changes seamlessly.
Information Technology: An intern will be exposed to all things tech. Servers, networks, end user support, finance – everything. You will also get some training in and eventually ownership of projects. Specific projects and contributions will depend on interest and need. Leaving this internship, you will have a well-rounded understanding of what an internal IT department does and have some real work experience. Free coffee, soda and popcorn included.
