IT Student Attends the Multicultural Career Workshop

From November 7-8, Information Technology (IT) Student Jennifer Sterling attended the International Radio & Television Society Foundation (IRTS) Multicultural Career Workshop in New York City. “Opportunities to travel, explore my career path, and connect with like-minded students from across the country are rare,” Sterling said. “Being able to take time away from classes and work to focus on my future felt like an immense privilege, one I don’t take for granted.”

SCSD Professor Serves as Guest Editor for Top-Tier Journal

School of Communication Science and Disorders Professor Yunjung Kim was invited to serve as Guest Editor for the Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research, a leading journal in the field. Her forum “Native Language, Dialect, and Foreign Accent in Dysarthria” was published in a collection of papers from international scholars. She also participated in the forum as an author of two articles, “Raising Awareness About Language-and Culture-Specific Considerations in the Management of Dysarthria Associated with Parkinson’s Disease within the United States” and “Does native language matter in perceptual ratings of dysarthria?”

College of Communication and Information Hosts Fall 2024 Career Fair

On October 8, 2024, The College of Communication and Information (CCI) hosted its semesterly career fair. Held at the Florida State University (FSU) Alumni Center, the College welcomed over 21 companies from around the Tallahassee community and over 120 students. Students who attended had the opportunity to connect with potential employers and recruiters about internships and job opportunities, many of which begin as early as the upcoming spring semester.
