Michelle Ubben (M.A. ’88) has recently been recognized as one of the Top Women in PR by PR News. The women featured are the most influential, innovative and bold leaders who shatter industry standards and propel PR practices. They make create bold brand messages, develop and guard brand reputations, manage crises and create content for digital platforms like no other.
Ubben is currently the chief operating officer at Sachs Media Group. She has led the marketing firm to great success, helping it become one of the top 100 marketing firms in the nation and the top marketing firm in the Southeast.
She contributed her innovative and critical thinking skills in 2014 for her work through Sachs Media Group on a campaign against child abuse. Ubben and alumna Jessica Clark accepted a Gracie Award from the Alliance of Women in Media (AWM) for the campaign, which involved a 30-minute television program that featured an exclusive interview with an incarcerated pedophile as well as five men and women who were abused as children. The duo also received a regional Emmy nomination for the program.
In addition to these impressive distinctions, Ubben has been named a Woman of Distinct by the Girl Scouts of the Florida Panhandle in the public relations category and an international Stevie Award for Women in Business. She was also a finalist for the National Public Relations Executive of the Year award in 2006.
