FSU College of Communication & Information Alumna Vanessa Fuchs has been named FSU’s interim Athletics Director as of June 5th, becoming the first female to lead the Seminoles’ Athletic Department.  This follows a promotion last May to the role of Senior Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in communications.

Fuchs was quoted in a recent FSU story: “I would like to thank President Barron for appointing me interim Director of Athletics. I appreciate the opportunity to lead an organization where I have spent so much of my life and career as a student-athlete, administrator and in my most recent position, where I will serve during this interim period, as the University searches for a new director of athletics.”
