Raney to speak at international symposium on moral psychology

Dr. Arthur A. Raney, Professor and Director of Doctoral Studies in the School of Communication, will speak at an international research symposium on the moral psychology of fiction at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, in Trondheim, Norway, on September 20 and 21.

The symposium will bring together scholars from cognitive film theory, analytic philosophy, and media psychology to explore the moral psychology of engagement with fictional narratives.  Raney will discuss his on-going work on the psychological and moral appeal and potential effects of entertainment narratives featuring protagonists who are morally corrupt.  For more information on the symposium, please visit http://www.ntnu.edu/ikm/mpf.
