Student Spotlight: Alessandra Noli Peschiera

Written by Amaya John

Doctoral student Alessandra Noli Peschiera serves as the Associate Director for the Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication (CHMC). The Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication works to serve students by providing them with opportunities for scholarships, research and mentorships.

Noli Peschiera’s interest in the CHMC started 10 years ago after transferring from the FSU Panama campus to the FSU Tallahassee campus. She began as a Social Media intern and later participated in a mentorship program during her master’s. Noli Peschiera holds Dr. Sindy Chapa, the Director of CHMC, in high regard. Chapa not only encouraged Noli Peschiera to pursue her doctorate degree but also to become her second-in-command.

“She always saw something in me that I couldn’t see,” Noli Peschiera said.

Noli Peschiera enjoys her position as Associate Director for CHMC and finds working with students to be one of the best parts of her job—which has made her more service-minded.

“Being able to work with students is fantastic, it is just a great environment, and it feels like home,” Noli Peschiera said.

The Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication celebrated its 20 years of excellence at its annual gala, fostering the theme of “Embrace. Empower. Elevate.” For such a momentous occasion, many hard-working hours were spent on its preparation. Noli Peschiera’s main role was heading the Silent Auction. However, as Associate Director, she found herself helping wherever she was needed —whether that meant coordinating agendas, setting up balloons or even arranging entertainment with FSU’s very own Mariachi Band.

The night of the gala was full of fun, laughter and unity. It was packed with friends and supporters who all were excited to celebrate an important milestone.

The Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication continues to flourish as they just had their biggest undergraduate enrollment for the Multicultural Marketing Certificate. Noli Peschiera is excited about the future of the center and to watch it grow and impact students the way it did for her.
