DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this internship is to give students at ACC universities the opportunity to showcase their personal football experiences and perceptions of the ACC during the 2010 season. The internship will consist of creating original blog content relating to their school’s football program.
The content will be published directly on the RepresentACC.com website. There will be a student to individually represent each ACC University. Content can include, but not be limited to, practices, game day experiences, individual players or team interaction on campus etc. This internship is unpaid, however all work will be visible at a national level, providing each student with a large sampling of nationally published work. The length of involvement in this project will begin in the late summer and will coincide with the 2010 football season. Students must be able to begin participation beginning the week of August 1, 2010 and continuing after the ACC
Championship game held on December 4, 2010.
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Student must currently be enrolled at an ACC University.
2. Opportunity is open to all majors, however the preferred candidate will be seeking their degree in communication, journalism, electronic media, sports broadcasting, english, creative writing or any other related field.
3. Student must be able to think independently and create original, weekly, content that is current and accurate in regards to their school’s football program.
4. Student must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
5. Deadline for all submissions is July 10, 2010. Please note that some internships may be assigned prior to the application deadline
6. Must be able to participate for entirety of determined internship length, beginning August 31, 2010 through December 12, 2010.
7. The Student Blogger will be required to write a minimum of 2 blogs every week; one pre game blog, and one post game blog. Post gameday blog must be submitted no later than 5pm the day following that week’s game. (Thursday games have a posting deadline of Friday by 5pm, Saturday games have a posting deadline of Sunday by 5pm).
8. Students will be required to complete one “Feature Blog” during the internship. This blog’s content will be up to the discretion of the author.
9. Be available and open for potential travel opportunities.
