Job Description | FSU Student Internship

Background

The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory develops and operates state-of-the-art, high-magnetic-field facilities that faculty and visiting scientists and engineers use for research. Sponsored by the National Science Foundation and the state of Florida, the lab also has an educational mission. Via its onsite programs, partnerships and its web presence, the MagLab reaches tens of thousands of students, teachers and others every year year through its educational arm, the Center for Integrating Research and Learning (CIRL). Tasks

The lab’s public affairs department, in coordination with CIRL, is revamping and redesigning the lab’s educational content online. As part of this effort, the lab is seeking to expand a section of its online educational content. We are currently planning some video content for the site, and are seeking an intern to help us shoot, edit and prepare the video for the web.

The intern’s tasks would include:

  • Shooting video for science-related educational online content
  • Editing video and preparing for Web

Student Intern Hours

Hours will be set according to the academic requirements of Florida State University, needs of MagLab, and the intern’s schedule.

Skills Needed

  • Current FSU College of Communication and Information student in good academic standing
  • Proficient with video editing software (preferably iMovie)
  • Interest in science
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
