Interested in non-profit or association communications? The Florida Dental Association (FDA) is seeking a Spring-semester intern for its Communications Department. The internship is an unpaid position, but will provide a student an opportunity to build their communications experience.
Primary duties of the internship will be to develop the association’s social media presence by proposing content, monitoring response and providing monthly social media reports. However, based on the intern’s interests, writing, editing, and graphic design shadowing and/or hands-on projects may also be included. The intern will be invited to the FDA’s annual Dentists’ Day on the Hill legislative event and Council on Communications conference calls.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience with social media and be interested in small, non-profit, association work. Writing skills and an enthusiastic attitude are also necessary. Hours are flexible (approx. 10 hours/week) and can be determined individually.
The FDA is a Tallahassee-based, statewide, professional association representing member-dentists in Florida. The FDA maintains two offices in Tallahassee and has 50 employees. A constituent society of the American Dental Association, the FDA’s mission is to improve the oral health of Florida residents, promote ethical practice standards, and direct the evolution of the practice environment through continuous education and advocacy for the profession and the public.
