Start interning in January or February 2020 at IBM.
The positions will be based out of our offices in South San Jose or Foster City, California.
In joining our user research organization, you’ll be in the company of over 60 user researchers that include craft-beer brewers, aviation lovers, and Left Shark fans.
Your responsibilities:
• Plan and conduct user research including: usability studies, interviews, competitive evaluations, surveys, expert heuristic evaluations, card sorts, tree tests, task analyses, etc.
• Prepare data collection materials (e.g., discussion guides), synthesize user research findings, create presentations, personas, task flows, and general documentation of research techniques and processes.
• Work collaboratively with other designers to define and improve the user experience for IBM Cloud, Data & AI offerings
Desired Professional and Technical Expertise:
• Demonstrated success turning generative and evaluative research insights into design recommendations that align with core business goals
• Experience conducting research throughout the entire product development lifecycle
• Experience working with enterprise software (agile/continuous delivery desired)
• Experience managing projects involving cross-functional teams
• Must be able to create a dendrogram on an etch-a-sketch
• 6 months to 2 years of relevant experience with above skills
• Completed BS degree working toward MS degree in Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Anthropology, Psychology, or related discipline.
