Volunteer Services Internship – American Red Cross

Description:  The American Red Cross is seeking an intern to help the Red Cross achieve its mission by educating the public about our lifesaving work and sharing ways individuals can get involved.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Outreach with community organizations, agencies, schools, and businesses
  • Fundraising and Special Events
  • Be an online advocate and tell the mission of the Red Cross
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new community partners and outreach team members
  • Organize educational materials for distribution at presentations / booth events
  • Track event outcomes and reached stakeholders
  • Represent the Red Cross in your community at fairs, festivals, and other special events

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
  • Public speaking
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently or with a team

Schedule / Time Commitment: Monday-Friday, flexible days with a minimum of 15 hours per week.  Opportunity to obtain hours on the weekend based on event schedules.

Compensation: For academic credit or volunteer hours only  (unpaid internship)
