lululemon internships (communication, brand management, design)

If the US Army hadn’t already taken the motto “be all that you can be,” it might have suited our intern program to a tee. Our aim is to create a unique learning environment that attracts, retains and develops world-class leaders who elevate their peers and communities. Working with our teams on real-world, strategic projects offers an incredible opportunity for high-performing, self-starting students to apply their passion and flex their brain-muscles.
“lululemon is…absolute freedom to create and to break the mould, to not stand in what has always been” – Chip Wilson, founder and chairman of the board

how the program works

The majority of interns join us in early May and stay until the end of August. We place interns on teams with managers and mentors who empower others to reach their goals. We want interns to own a project from beginning to end. This is the kind of place where if you have an idea, it will be heard — just be prepared to run with it, too! All of our internship roles are located in Vancouver, BC, at our Store Support Centre — two blocks from the beach, we might add!

am I eligible for an internship?

Our internships are open to both undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a university or college in Canada or the USA. We are also open to international students — work visas permitting. In most cases, students are going into the final year of their studies and are already making their mark on their world — both in their communities and in the lives of their peers.

will you help me get a work visa?

All students are responsible for their Canadian work visa. This must be obtained without company sponsorship—all offers are conditional on a candidate’s ability to obtain a Canadian work visa prior to rolling out your mat with us in May/June. While there are multiple avenues into Canada, we have found that for a fast and easy visa — yes, even our visas are friendly — a SWAP visa is a great idea.

will you help me get to vancouver, canada?

Unfortunately, we can’t provide relocation assistance for our internship program. Those who make the trip out West will be responsible for their flight to and from Vancouver and their accommodation here.

is there a deadline to apply for an internship?
No, there is no formal application deadline. We are looking for shower-singing, bear-taming, #lovemylife leaders who fit our culture and we’ll continue to look until we find the best candidates. For priority consideration, we encourage you to apply no later than the last week of March.

how should I apply?

You may apply for up to two (2) positions. Applying for positions you do not qualify for will not increase your chances. Follow these simple steps to application success:

step 1: fill out the application form ( please make sure you’re eligible before you apply)

step 2:
send your résumé (as a word document or a PDF), and any additional documents you need for the position you’re applying to (e.g., writing sample, portfolio, etc.) to internpossibilities@lululemon.com.
helpful tips:

  • for our benefit (but really yours) please label your documents as follows: Lastname_Firstname_NameofDoc (e.g., Wiser_Beverly_WritingSample)
  • résumé’s can be up to two (2) pages and should highlight personal impact in previous roles, not job descriptions
  •  instead of a lovingly crafted cover letter, focus all your writing prowess on composing powerful answers in your application (we’ve asked everything we want to know) and submitting your most “WOW” résumé
  • unlike the casino, playing multiple times (i.e., reaching out to our colleagues with internship inquiries after you have applied) will not increase your chance of winning the jackpot. Trust us when we say that we have received your résumé; you will hear from us if there is a fit

i have never worked in retail before, will that hurt my chances of being on the team?
Although retail experience is an asset, we are looking for people who can think, critically analyze and communicate effectively. We select on culture fit and brains first, then experience.

i still have questions, can I talk with someone?
Unfortunately, we can’t give informational interviews due to the volume of applicants we receive. However, if you have any burning questions, please send an email to internpossibilities@lululemon.com with “QUESTION:” in the title and we will do our best to respond in a timely manner.
