The Intern will work within a team of Security Engineers, who analyze various threats and behavioral aspects of malicious cyber activity. The team’s responsibility is to gather information, identify intelligence requirements, interpret and assess information from diverse technical, profile malicious actors, monitor trends and patterns in cyber threats, and assess/identify tactics, techniques and procedures related to cyber security issues.
Research, data analysis, analytical writing, and oral presentation are all potential components of the position.
Purpose: Interns are college or graduate students who, as part of their professional studies, will gain supervised and practical experience. Interns working toward a graduate degree will have responsibilities in which they will give aid on projects, assist or lead in daily company events, provide support to group members, and have other job specific responsibilities. The intern will use professional concepts; apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. The intern will work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. They will exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action, and receive general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments
Duties & Responsibilities: Perform preliminary analysis and conduct interviews with various business groups to communicate project objectives and to understand their data protection requirements. Assist with the evaluation of other data governance solutions. Conduct research on data governance best practice. Work collaboratively with EI’s technology teams, external vendors and consultants. Set realistic expectations for completion of projects and/or tasks.
Qualifications * Undergraduate or graduate studies in a technical discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security, Computer Engineering). * Knowledge or understanding of Information Security concepts required. * Knowledge of cryptography a plus. * Previous project experience or project management knowledge a plus. * Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills. * Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management. * Strong conceptual and analytical skills. * Excellent planning and organizational skills. * Self -starter, with a high degree of initiative and motivation. * Must be a team player. * Able to intern for a minimum of 6 months to 1year timeframe. * Referral from a professor or by a member of faculty is mandatory. * Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship ****Minimum GPA -3.0***** Operating Systems: • Relevant operating system security (Windows, Solaris, Linux, etc.) Hardware: • Routers • Switches • Other similar security devicesral aspects of malicious cyber activity.
