Business Manager, Tuscaloosa (AL) Public Library
Department: Administration
Status: Full-Time Exempt- 40 hours per week

Salary Range: $18.02 – $23.00 per hour
Reports to: Executive Director
Supervisory Responsibility: Accounting Assistant; Maintenance Supervisor
Position Summary: Under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director, the Business Manager is responsible for managing the Library’s financial operations and overseeing the physical maintenance of the libraries in an efficient and professional manner.
Physical Requirements: The physical requirements are typical of an office/ administrative environment and include sitting, standing, bending, walking, reaching, lifting items weighing up to 25 lbs., and looking at a computer screen for long periods.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or similar field required.
- A minimum of five years accounting experience required, including experience in analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports, statements, and projections.
- A minimum of two years supervisory experience required.
- Familiarity with federal and state labor laws.
- Certification in accounting preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Work and QuickBooks required.
- Ability and willingness to explain financial and other administrative information to individuals who do not have finance back ground required.
