Responsibilities
Social Media: Responsible for drafting social media posts and taking photos for social media. Assists with posts on the College of Law’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat and other social media platforms. Manages the law school’s student takeovers on social media. Researches social media trends, especially in the area of higher education, and incorporates trends into the law school’s social media strategy. Ensures that social media posts are consistent with College of Law branding and goals. Collaborates with Assistant Director to formulate social media strategy. Stays abreast of new social media trends, recommending and implementing new social media initiatives in response to market development.
Web Site Content: Performs the vast majority of the College of Law’s website content updates. Creates new pages and ensures updates are performed in a timely manner. Works with various internal offices to make necessary web updates. Ensures posts are consistent with College of Law branding and that content is current and grammatically correct.
Photography: Serves as one of the College of Law’s internal photographers. Responsible for taking high-quality photos of law school events and constituents as needed. Responsible for utilizing Adobe Creative Suite programs to manipulate photos for use on the website, on social media platforms and in publications. Required to work minimal weekend and event hours to cover some events.
Supports the Director and Assistant Director with other projects as needed. Other responsibilities include editing and drafting a variety of communications materials, and utilizing Abode Creative Suite programs and Canva for small social media graphic design projects.
Qualifications
Applicants must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar software, and Adobe AcrobatPro and Creative Suite or similar software .
The ability to communicate effectively, through various formats, is essential. Must have strong writing skills, to include correct grammar and editing, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines, and the ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of constituents.
