Position Summary
The Florida State University Foundation is seeking a part time OPS position for a Computer Support Specialist in the Department of Information Services (IS). The incumbent will be responsible for providing high-quality customer service and promoting end user satisfaction by facilitating the use of computers and information technology within the FSU Foundation. The Computer Support Specialist will be expected to uphold and exemplify the operating practices and mission of the Florida State University Foundation.
Responsibilities
* Provides support for the Microsoft Windows computing infrastructure by installing/resolving issues with desktop hardware and software including operating systems, desktop applications, computer peripherals, printers, smart phones and multimedia equipment
* Assists in Active Directory account maintenance and security, maintaining NTFS file permissions
* Manages the rollout of new computers, desktop imaging, and maintains inventory of all computer equipment
* Coordinates the laptop requirements for external employees that are located off-site
* Provides appropriate service, support and advice to end users regarding technical issues
* Conducts quality end user training in a variety of applications
* Assists the Department of Information Services with other duties as assigned
* Protects confidential information

Working Relationships
The Computer Support Specialist reports directly to the Network Administrator of Information Services. The incumbent’s internal relationships include all Foundation personnel. External relationships include university staff, the FSU Alumni Association, Seminole Boosters and the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art staff.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum six months of providing technical support in a professional IT environment. Demonstrated experience with Windows XP operating systems, Microsoft Office applications and an understanding of Microsoft’s Active Directory networking environment required. Experience with Symantec’s Ghost Solution preferred.
Educational Requirements: High school diploma and/or technical certification in a relevant field required.
