Qualifications
Bachelor ‘s degree in health education, health promotion, public health, psychology, counseling, higher education, social work or other related area and 2 years of experience in health promotion or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.
- Collaborative work style with self directed initiative; presentation skills.
- Ability to obtain, maintain and upgrade HIV Counselor requirements and certifications.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; computer literate.
- Position requires successful completion of a post hire PPD(TB) test and OSHA Training
Background Check Requirements
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.
Confidentiality Policy
This position requires compliance with University confidentiality policies.
Preferred
Master’s degree. Experience with college age adults; multicultural and minority programming. Familiar with health promotion theories, evidence based best practices, outcome evaluation, statistical analysis and health behavior research methodologies. Knowledge of core health issues including sexual health, stress management and minority health.
Schedule
Occasional evening and weekend hours required.
Responsibilities
Develop, direct, administer and evaluate compus wide programs, services and activities as part of a comprehensive health promotion program targeting HIV/AIDS, sexual health, high risk drinking prevention, and other college health areas. Collaborate with other health promotion professionals and supervise student staff and volunteers. Assist with conducting research and outcomes evaluation of key interventions and help to seek alternative funding sources.
