- Prepares published, printed or electronic deliverables required to support the goals and strategies of communication plans for marketing and/or communication initiatives developed to meet the goals of the business units served by Marketing and Communications (MarCom).
- Collaborates with MarCom team members and business unit leaders in development of communication plans tosupport external marketing and/or internal communication initiatives. Develops supporting project plans and periodic calendars of communication events. Monitors development costs and timing of production.
- Ensures consistent framing of messaging and refines core messaging in deliverables, supportingorganizational consistency in all aspects of Ascension communications.
- Monitors trends in best practices. Collaborates with MarCom team members in advocating best practice communications to the business owners served by MarCom.
- Implements tactics that provide local market voice to System “key messages”. Ensures that communications are consistent, accurate and appropriate.
- Supports Marketing and Communications Shared Services leadership and staff to implement internal and external resources locally and nationally.
- Uses appropriate metrics and measurement strategies to enable continuous improvement and ensures effective use of resources.
- Researches, writes, edits and proofreads copy and other content consistent with approved key messages
- Creates marketing presentations, executive memos, both internal and external communications and news articles
- Provides collaborative, strategic partnership between MarCom and local ministry leadership
- Develops and executes engaging social organic content
- Maintains social channels and works to grow audiences
- Creates strong PR content and works with media to secure earned media opportunities
- Serves as primary point of contact for local news media and plays a key role in developing responses to media inquiries

- Maintains a highly responsive relationship with leaders across multiple disciplines to record, track, and facilitate closure of both in and out-of-scope requests.
- May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters to assist with crisis communications
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree required.
Work Experience:
- 3 years of experience preferred.
Additional Preferences
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or Journalism, or combination of Bachelor’s degree and related experience is preferred
