The Community Outreach Coordinator assists with marketing and promotion for various events and programs within the Thomas G. Carpenter Library at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. The coordinator will report directly to the Head of Research and Outreach and be part of the Public Services Department and a member of the Research and Outreach Team. This position requires a high level of communication and proactive collaboration.
This coordinator will actively support the Library’s strategic outreach initiatives and projects critical to maintaining community relationships. The coordinator will work collaboratively with library and university staff to ensure the program’s success. Collaboration will also include developing partnerships with other UNF departments, centers and groups on campus, as well as with other community groups, organizational leaders and associations. They will assist in preparation and delivery of workshops and training programs.
This position is responsible for the creation of publications, branding, marketing and web policies for the Library. This position will develop print and digital marketing materials to support the Library’s initiatives, expand communication and explain library services. The coordinator will implement strategies to heighten awareness and build engagement for the Library within the broader community. This will include effective communication about library programs and services and assisting with planning a variety of outreach events.
Required Qualifications: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related area of specialization; or a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and two years of experience directly related to the job functions.
Preference shown to applicants who also possess the following: Proficiency with social media, web design and communications software; Bachelor’s degree in a design- or communications-related discipline; experience with academic library programs; extensive knowledge and experience with communities in Jacksonville and NE Florida.
Approved Hiring Salary Range: $40,000 to negotiable
