Digital Resources Librarian
Allegheny College, a small selective liberal arts college located in northwest Pennsylvania, invites applications for the position of Digital Resources Librarian (DRL).  The position is a full-time, exempt, administrative position reporting to the Associate Director of the Library, Library and Information Technology Services (LITS).
We are seeking an individual who understands the management and discovery of digital resources. In collaboration with LITS staff, the successful candidate will be the primary support person for the management of internally-created digital resources, including manuscripts, images, audio/video, and student/faculty research and publications.  In particular, the candidate will be responsible for managing the library’s DSpace institutional repository and Allegheny’s collections in JSTOR Forum.  In addition, the DRL will support the library’s Summon discovery platform, Primo VE, and the College’s open access initiative.  As necessary and as time permits, the candidate will also assist with managing commercially-vended digital resources.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:  The position requires a Masters in Library/ Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent.  Recent library school graduates are encouraged to apply.  Applicants should have a thorough understanding of discovery platforms, institutional repositories, digital asset management systems, Dublin Core, and XML.  LITS staff at Allegheny are dynamic, adaptable, multifaceted individuals who enjoy learning new skills, collaborating with team members, and tackling complex problems.  Candidates must have excellent analytical, organizational, project management, and listening skills.  Applicants with the ability to identify and apply best practices through the lens of institutional need and culture are desired.
