Digital Scholarship Librarian @ Auburn University Libraries

Auburn University Libraries (AUL) invites applications for a twelve-month tenure-track position as Digital Scholarship Librarian. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Technology and Research Support in the Research Support Unit, the Digital Scholarship Librarian will work collaboratively to support the scholarly and research activities of Auburn faculty, researchers, and students by developing specialized research and instructional partnerships; building a digital scholarship support program; and providing general research support and outreach. This work will involve assisting in the conception, design, creation, and maintenance of interdisciplinary digital scholarship projects; assisting in the creation and preservation of digital collections in the Auburn University Digital Library (http://diglib.auburn.edu/); and participating in other digital scholarship initiatives at the campus, state, and regional levels. The Digital Scholarship Librarian will work across Library departments to assess and develop appropriate policies and procedures for digital scholarship projects and to ensure continued development and maintenance of the Libraries’ digital initiatives, as well as collaborative projects with other Auburn University colleges and departments. The Digital Scholarship Librarian will also represent the Libraries on collaborative projects with other institutions in Alabama, the Southeast, and beyond. This twelve-month tenure-track position requires professional and scholarly activity as well as service on library and university committees.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Cultivates, promotes and coordinates digital scholarship initiatives and other research support activities in the Libraries and across campus
• In collaboration with other Library units, develops a robust digital scholarship support program
• Utilizes digital scholarship tools and methods in support of research and instructional applications
• Proactively seeks out and develops opportunities for partnerships with faculty and academic units on campus, effectively deploying technical, scholarly, and project management skills to plan and execute innovative, sustainable digital scholarship projects in the arts, humanities, sciences, and social sciences
• Offers workshops and training on digital scholarship methods and tools
• Collaborates with other librarians, staff members, and student workers to create new digital collections and enhance existing collections
• Helps organize and participates in meetings of the campus-wide digital scholarship interest group
• Helps coordinate statewide digital projects with the Network of Alabama Academic Libraries (NAAL)
• Represents the Auburn University Libraries on Auburn University standing committees and ad-hoc groups, as assigned
