Position purpose: Position is full-time, 12 month faculty position with responsibilities for overseeing the lifecycle of electronic resources and participates in licensing, acquisitions, access, administration, statistics, and support for these resources. Reporting to the Asset Management Librarian, the Electronic Resources Librarian is part of the Asset Management team and an essential member of the library’s digital branch management team in support of online learning.
Job functions:
Describe the essential functions and responsibilities of
this faculty position. Basic functions as required by Provost Office include:
- Manage the lifecycle of electronic resources, including databases, eBooks, and streaming media.
- Provide information and data/statistics used in the analysis and evaluation of electronic resources.
- Maintain and troubleshoot electronic resource access issues to ensure user access.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and other types of documentation pertaining to electronic resources as needed.
- Collaborate with library liaisons to identify and launch online resource trials.
- Promote electronic resources by creating and maintaining research guides, providing training, and arranging for vendor/publisher presentations for library liaisons.
- Serve as liaison to a school or academic department.
- Engage in activities to support the mission and vision of Belmont University and the college in which you teach.
- Participate in departmental and university committee work.
- Engage in scholarly activity and professional development.
- Advise undeclared students in course selection and degree completion.
- Participate in a local church and the community.
- Abide by all relevant university and/or department procedures and policies.
