Clemson Libraries seeks a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and collaborative Emerging Technologies Librarian to lead the Libraries’ Adobe Studio and Makerspace. The Emerging Technologies Librarian will champion experimentation and hands-on learning as part of our culture of innovation and lifelong learning. The Emerging Technologies Librarian will play a key role in continuing the Libraries’ momentum in supporting engaging, inclusive, multidisciplinary, and experiential learning activities. The Emerging Technologies Librarian will continue to cultivate meaningful partnerships with external and campus groups including Adobe Inc., Watt’s Makerspace, and the Center for Career and Professional Development. The Emerging Technologies Librarian will collaborate with faculty, students, and staff to promote the effective use of emerging technologies, deliver training on Adobe products, and foster experiential learning opportunities. This position requires a high degree of collaborative leadership and initiative and will be critical to the Libraries’ strategic growth as an R1 institution.
Qualified candidates will have an ALA-accredited degree in librarianship or other relevant graduate degree as deemed appropriate by the Libraries, demonstrated ability to use and teach Adobe Creative Cloud products, 1-2 years of previous management/supervisory experience, and experience developing training and delivering instruction for emerging technology.
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience leading creative and emerging library services, experience writing grants, and 2-3 years of management/supervisory experience.
This is a 12-month tenure-track faculty position and will work under the direction of the Head of the Open Scholarship Department. The position provides a minimum salary of $68,000 based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.
