The Florida Atlantic Libraries has an opening for a forward-thinking, enthusiastic, and collaborative librarian to join our team of instruction and engagement librarians. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Libraries and the University in an on-call reference model, this position requires that the successful candidate be a strong presence in the campus community, building and maintaining close relationships with faculty and students in order to meet their teaching, learning, research, and publication needs.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of Instruction and Engagement Services, the librarian in this position will actively engage with students and faculty to understand and effectively respond to their informational and research needs. The successful candidate will provide individual research assistance, including consultations to both students and faculty, participate in collection development, and serve as a liaison to campus groups and academic disciplines. This position will also serve as a 1/4-time library representative to the FAU Fort Lauderdale campus’ curricular programs, spending approximately 10 hours a week at the Broward County Public Library in Fort Lauderdale meeting with faculty and students or interacting with them remotely to gauge their needs and deliver services.
Qualifications Required:
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited institution.
