Librarian II @ The Columbia County Public Library

This is professional library work coordinating and conducting library services and activities in a specific area such as Reference, Public Services, Technical Services, Youth Services or Adult Services. Work may be performed under the general supervision of the Library Director, Assistant Director, Branch Manager or other professional staff.

Minimum Training: MLS from an American Library Association accredited University. Two years of library experience, of which one year must be at the professional or post-MLS level. A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the above minimum qualification.

Considerable knowledge of the principles and methods of professional library service and operations, including automation, cataloging, reference and/or programming. Knowledge of computer hardware, software and networked services as related to the library environment and of information resources in various forms, including electronic. Knowledge of community resources, needs and interests.

Knowledge of the principles of organization, supervision and administration. Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills as needed to work effectively with staff, volunteers and library users demonstrating the ability to work in a team environment. Ability to plan and present programs and to train others effectively. Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable to change. Strong public service and professional commitment. Demonstrates broad, in-depth, and up-to-date knowledge of reference resources

SALARY: $14.35 per hour plus benefits
