Library Instruction Specialist @ FSU Libraries, Tallahassee

This position designs, manages and improves instruction and reference services at FSU Libraries in collaboration with the Instruction and Reference Librarian.

Designs, coordinates, implements, facilitates, and assesses undergraduate instructional sessions and develops instructional materials for both in-person and online environments throughout FSU Libraries.

Conducts research consultations of varying difficulty with undergraduate students on a multitude of topics. Evaluates and develops services that improve user outcomes and student experiences in the library. Supports the Instruction and Reference Librarian in managing the reference unit.

Plans and provides training to library staff regarding instruction and reference services and strategies. Coordinates the scheduling of the library’s instructional team to meet instructional needs. Coordinates with FSU departments to book instructional sessions. Supervises graduate assistants, interns, and OPS as needed.

Develops and assists in the development and implementation of reference and instruction policies and procedures. Contributes to departmental goals and initiatives such as outreach and engagement.
