Library Operations Supervisor (Inter Library Loan Department) @ Strozier Library, FSU

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the Outreach, Assessment, and Quality Control activities of the Resource Sharing unit.

Manages the Lost Book Workflow for both Borrowing and Lending including coordinating with UBA to initiate fines or invoices, maintaining accurate tracking of these transactions, and coordinating with the cataloging unit to withdraw permanently lost item. Interprets and enforces library and University policy.

Oversees the scanning and delivery of scanned materials requested for Resource Sharing and LEDS services.  Utilize RapidILL, ILLiad, Odyssey, Article Exchange, Alma, and Email, in compliance with local and state guidelines and Copyright policy. 
Utilizes a variety of technologies to search and retrieve information, submit and track requests, and resolve problems. Maintains knowledge of all workflows and procedures to serve as a backup within the Resource Sharing unit including Uborrow, Borrowing, Lending, Physical Processing of requests, Mail, and Billing.  
Interprets policies and complies with all applicable laws and procedures regarding Resource Sharing including Copyright guidelines and best practices. 

Assesses Resource Sharing department services using qualitative and quantitative techniques.  Monitors internal library communications for issues.  Develops surveys, training guides, and promotional materials as needs and opportunities are identified. Produces monthly and annual reports and distributes these reports to stakeholders. Effectively communicates with internal and external colleagues. Collaborates with department colleagues to implement new ideas and workflows.  Produces monthly and annual reports on activities for the Resource Sharing unit.  Distribute these reports to stakeholders.

Serves as department SharePoint and Webpage administrator and keeps these resources current. Maintains department policy and procedure files.  Coordinates with department and library colleagues on updates and development.    Serves as department liaison to the Virtual Reference service.  Actively monitors and responds to emails, VR service requests, and TEAMS chats.     
Stays current on the research, technical trends, and innovations in Resource Sharing, including multiple technologies, and online services used daily within the department.  Participates in professional development activities and networking opportunities in support of further developing the unit.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and five years of experience.
(Note: a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to five years.)

Experience working or conducting research in a library setting.
Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills

Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to gather, interpret, report, and/or edit information

Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.

Knowledge of the concepts, principle and practices of management. 

Knowledge of the policies and practices of library services.

Knowledge of data analysis techniques and methodology
