Position Available: This position is available as soon as possible. This is a 100% time, permanent, twelve-month appointment Academic Professional position in the University Library.
Duties and Responsibilities: Develops an innovative and responsive instructional program supporting all aspects of the media production lifecycle. Through collaboration with team members and Library and campus partners, the successful candidate will design and teach workshops and course-integrated instruction sessions focused on creating multimedia projects for classroom assignments and student portfolios. As part of the University Library’s Media Commons [https://www.library.illinois.edu/mc/
], the Specialist will develop a robust program that educates students about media production standards and workflows from storyboarding and pre-production planning, through selecting and utilizing cameras, through editing and producing high-quality final projects.
Qualifications: Required: Master’s degree in Educational Technology, digital media, computer graphics, technology or computer science, or related field; Minimum of two years technical experience using multimedia software and hardware in the media production lifecycle; Experience providing classroom instruction in an educational setting and/or experience providing technology demonstrations or presentations; Demonstrated leadership, communication, public speaking, and team-building skills; Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse community; Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and busy environment; Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to collaborative projects within and outside the organization.
