Job Description/Scope:
Broward County Library’s (BCL) Community Engagement department is seeking a Project Coordinator to work alongside the Project Manager and project team to implement an exciting grant-funded project called Virtual AARLCC. Virtual AARLCC is a pilot program designed to expand access to BCL’s African American Research Library and Cultural Center’s (AARLCC) unique Special Collection through the utilization of 3D modeling and Augmented Reality.
Job Duties:
• Oversee and maintain the project timeline, goals and the necessary elements to complete the project.
• Collaborate and communicate with all project members to meet project milestones and deadlines.
• Develop model scanning and metadata work plans to support the virtual exhibit website, attend regular project meetings, work with a consultant group to develop a virtual exhibit theme, storyboard the artifact website design and navigation.
• Setup a web conferencing site that will be used for live, curated virtual tours.
• Develop library staff training on how to conduct guided virtual exhibit tours.
• Work with BCL’s Digital Initiatives Coordinator and Archivist to develop a 90-minute library-based augmented reality (AR) experience of the artifacts.
• Create project surveys and an evaluation database used to manage survey intake and statistical tracking.
Tools and Equipment Used:
3D scanners, Omeka software, web design software, computer, copier, and common office equipment.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field. Requires two years of experience in project management, 3D modeling, training development, web design/development.
Preferred Skills
Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written.
Experience working with rare artifacts
Experience working in libraries or museums
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
Ability to work well independently with limited direction and supervision
Works well with a team
Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office
