Position Responsibilities:

Teaches library instruction and information literacy skills for courses in assigned disciplines (Education, Psychology, Business, Political Science, Sociology, and Economics).
Prepares online instructional materials, guides, and tutorials for these disciplines.
Provides research support to students at the reference desk, by email and chat, and through individual consultations.
Works with faculty to strengthen instructional collaborations and integrate library resources into classes and programs.
Represent the library on university committees and at campus programs and events.
Schedule includes some evening and weekend shifts during the academic term.

Required Qualifications:

Ability to teach library research techniques.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with others and work as a part of a team.
Knowledge of and experience with a wide array of print and electronic information resources.
Master’s Degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited Master’s program (MLS/MLIS)
Experience in the provision of research and instruction services. (This can include experience gained while pursuing a graduate degree or in a pre-professional position.)

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with the resources and research methods used in the social sciences
Familiarity with business databases or government documents.
Knowledge of Springshare products (LibGuides, LibInsights, LibWizard)
Undergraduate degree in a social science discipline with preference given to education or business administration.
